Monterey Bay Aquarium

Seventeen Mile Drive


This drive takes you past palatial Pebble Beach estates, world famous golf courses, resorts and vista points that have been favorites of photographers. The lone Cypress can be seen along this route. The tree is over 100 years old and stands on the rocks alone against the beauty of the Pacific Ocean.


Path of History: Monterey Walking Tour

A two mile path through downtown Monterey. The tour starts at the Maritine Museum directly across from Fisherman's Wharf


Carmel Mission


Built in 1771, it is one of two Basilicas on the west coast. Father Junipero Serra founded the mission and is buried on it's grounds.


Fisherman's Wharf


Located in the heart of Monterey. Listen to the sea lions as you stroll along the pier shopping, dining and enjoying the bay.


Monterey Recreational Trail


This trail will lead you around the bay from Seaside to Pacific Grove. You'll go right past fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, the Aquarium, Lover's Point and end up by Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach. It is perfect for a walk, bike ride, roller skating or a nice long jog.


Cannery Row


John Steinbeck brings it to life in many of his stories. It once was home to many sardine canneries and many savory characters. Now it is filled with fine shops, restaurants, galleries, a huge carousel and ends at the Aquarium. The Aquarium was once one of the largest canneries on the Row.


Point Lobos Reserve


"the greatest meeting of land and water in the world". It is an ecological reserve located just 3 miles south of Carmel on Highway one along the ocean. Hiking is a favorite in this spot.
